G.I. Joe sequel shooting in 2011?

That’s what MTV Movies Blog is saying to us with their recent interview piece with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. There’s been talks here and there for awhile, ever since the August release of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, about the sequel but nothing had ever really been confirmed to a certain degree. Continue reading on to see what the producer has to say on the film.:

Lorenzo di Bonaventura: We’re not that far. I think it’ll be pretty soon. It’ll need a lot of work. They all do. I’ve had an occasion to read some of their pages, so I know the quality is there and the sense of tone is there. Paramount is very excited about us getting it going. No dates have been set. In our heads we think 2012 — that summer.

There is also murmurs going around of the film being released in 3-D, which would not be much of a surprise nowadays since every other studio out there has third dimension fever. Let’s open it up to all of you; would you want to see a sequel to G.I. Joe on the big screen, or do you think that this Hasbro toy should go back on the shelves of your local Toys”R”Us?

I've been in love with film ever since I was a kid. The time, effort and passion that runs through a majority most film is something that's always attracted me to this field. What ended up happening with my big appetite for all things going on in the industry turned from random blurbs on Facebook to an unexpected but fun job. College student by day, movie news writer by early morning...or any time in the day and night when more news arrives. Working towards my bachelor's degree in film, what a surprise. I do other things too, like draw, write stories, maintain a social life and feed my pet dragon Lockheed. If you want to know more about me, hunt me down and just ask.
