Fox gets writer for Wolverine sequel

wolverine_vol_1_1Today, Christopher McQuarrie has been hired to write the X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel, currently untitled. McQuarrie worked on the first X-Men movie’s script with Bryan Singer, but took his name off since he felt David Hayter deserved the credit.

The film will be set in Japan, based on the popular story line from the comics, originally written by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller in the mid-1980s. Hugh Jackman is returning again, but no word on the villains or other casting. X-Men Origins: Wolverine made $180 million here in the states and nearly $400 million worldwide.
