First images of David Fincher’s The Goon

With the upcoming adaptation of the Eric Powell comic book The Goon well underway, and with David Fincher hot off his first Oscar nomination, the folks over at AICN got their hands on the first images from the film, which FIncher is producing. Blur Studio will be handling the CGI animation, with Dark Horse Entertainment producing.

Quite frankly, the images are pretty astounding.  The Goon tells the story of the titular hero who acts as the ring leader and got to guy for the famed mobster Labrazio.  It is a down and dirty tale, but bridges many supernatural elements in the story such as ghosts, zombies, and even an appearance by Hellboy at one moment.
