Fillion and others become Super

James Gunn continues to impress and increase our hopes of his latest film Super as he casts on several actors which includes the always great Nathan Fillion. Among the others that have been cast into the production includes Linda Cardellini, Gregg Henry, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Stephen Blackeheart, Mikaela Hoover, Lloyd Kaufman, Valentine Miele, Andre Royo and Steve Agee. It’s casting overload on the upcoming project which already included Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page for starters in this comedic action tale.

Wilson plays Frank, a seemingly average Joe who is madly in love with his troubled wife Sarah (Liv Tyler). But when Sarah leaves Frank for Jacques (Kevin Bacon), a smooth-talking drug dealer, Frank transforms into pseudo superhero The Crimson Bolt, stakes out Jacques sleazy hideaway, and wages a one-man war on crime. What he lacks in superpowers, he makes up for with a trusty pipe wrench. Every superhero needs a sidekick and so enters Libby (Ellen Page), a cute sociopathic teen working at the local comic book store, who morphs into ‘Boltie’ and teams with Frank to take Jacques down (Coming Soon).

The huge film full of possible awesome is written and directed by James Gunn. The Ambush Entertainment and This Is That Productions feature has no particular release date, but with the really cool story line and awesome cast this sounds pretty hard not to pass up for distribution, but we’ll see.
