Fantstic Four remake in the works already!?
As remakes are the current trend in Hollywood right now as opposed to original ideas, the already mildly successful Fantastic Four is now being considered next in line for a reboot! Keep in mind the last film was just released a little under 2 years ago and had scored 289 million worldwide.Â
With the film only in talks and not confirmed as of yet, do you feel a reboot is necessary? Were you that big of a fan of any of the two films, that you feel another version would do the comic justice? The comic was never dark in tone and was always a bit on the camp side, so would today’s trend of making everything serious and dark like The Dark Knight work in this reboot?Â

About what kind of remake are we talking here? From the same people who made the last two movies (which I didn’t hate, BTW. They were good sunday afternoon entertaining without any re-watch value) or will this now be handled by Marvel itself, like the Hulk reboot?
Like I said, I didn’t hate the Jessica Alba movies, but I think if Marvel is now taking over, nobody will complain. (Except for the actors who will now be replaced.) Although I would seriously hate if the franchise would now go all 9/11 on us like The Dark Knight did. Let’s hope for a more Iron Man-ish approach of the material. That movie dealt with serious real life topics like the war against terrorism, but was still light enough to entertain.
Totally agree with you CJ. Fantastic Four was never a serious book. They were like a dysfunctional family and there was always comedy. I agree if they redo it mix it up like Iron Man did so well.
Not every superhero film needs to be like the TDK…..except for Batman 3 whenever Nolan gets to it lol
