Everyone goes to the Titans
It already was highly unlikely that something else would be able to topple the remake of Clash of the Titans on its opening weekend, and all we get is a confirmation today as it takes in $61.4 Million. The Louis Leterrier helmed picture stars Sam Worthington with a cast that includes Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes. Despite the mixed word of mouth on the picture, one of the things that must have helped the film’s profit was the increased sales of 3D that kicked up prior to its release.
Next on the list is Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too? which wrangled in $30.1 Million. This opening total is not much of a surprise granted that this is a Tyler Perry film. Last, but not least, is the Nicholas Sparks novel turned feature The Last Song, taking in $16.2 Million. Nicholas Sparks combined with the star power of Miley Cyrus was easy bank, so it’s no surprise this made some good amount of revenue already. A couple of other features managed to do well box office-wise, at the top of the list being How to Train Your Dragon with $29.2 Million. Here’s the rest of the totals below from Box Office Mojo.:
