Emma Stone considered for Spider-Man 3D
It seems just like yesterday that rumors and speculation about who would be cast as the next Peter Parker/Spider-man were rampant, which ultimately went to Andrew Garfield. Now, it’s looking like déjà vu as Sony is considering several different actresses for Spider-Man’s love interest (which is reportedly not Mary Jane Watson). And while it seemed as if the role may have already been cast earlier (here), another name has been added to the shortlist.
Variety reports that Easy A star, Emma Stone, is being considered for the part in Marc Webb’s reboot, which is tentatively titled, Spider-Man 3D. She joins the likes of Lily Collins, Teresa Palmer, and Mia Wasikowska for the role Parker’s love interest. Unlike the other three actresses, Stone has the advantage of having a strong relationship with the studio that could help her getting cast. It’s still uncertain which of Parker’s comic book girlfriends will be featured in the film. Webb recently mentioned an announcement would be coming, and with production scheduled for December, the role should be cast soon.
Spider-Man 3D is scheduled for a release in July of 2012.
