Emma Roberts joins Scream 4

Dimension Films and The Weinstein Company scoops up another promising actress as Emma Roberts is the latest addition to the cast of Wes Craven’s Scream 4. She’s the newest piece to the casting puzzle as she takes over the role that Ashley Greene was originally going to play. The rest of the cast includes Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Hadyen Panettiere, Lake Bell and Rory Culkin.

Scream 4 returns to Woodsboro, the home of Sidney Prescott (Campbell), and Roberts will play a role similar to Campbell’s star-turning one in the original, says EW. Kevin Williamson’s script is still very much unknown, but all we can do is hope that it’s going to be pretty good. Williamson is producing along with Iya Labunka.

Principal photography is poised to start on June 28th with a set April 15th, 2011 release date. Roberts recently appeared as part of the all-star cast for the romantic comedy Valentine’s Day, which you can rent or buy on DVD.
