Eastern Promises 2 loses Watts

The sequel to David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises will not have Naomi Watts again. “I don’t think I’m in it,” she tells MTV. “Nobody’s called.” Fans can rest assured that Viggo Mortensen will reprise his role of Nikolai, an undercover Federal Security Service agent working with the British government, who took over as a Russian mob boss at the end of the first film.

No word on a start date for the sequel.
