Due Date writers get Popular

Scribes Alan Cohen and Alan Freedland strike while the iron’s hot with the obvious success of scriptwriting turning into profit after Due Date and get an untitled pitch picked up by Universal Pictures. The pitch involves a man who was unpopular as a kid. When he returns home, he is mistaken for a popular classmate and experiences the glory he missed in his formative years (Variety). Going straight to produce this picture is Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer who clearly liked the script that much to back up the appealing production company onto the project.

Alan Cohen’s previous work includes several episodes for King of the Hill along with Freedland. The two writers still have a couple of scripts simmering in development that we more than likely will hear about once the release date for the Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis co-starring feature Due Date comes out in theaters on November 5th under Warner Bros Pictures.
