DreamWorks show their Racing Dreams

Racing Dreams is going from being a documentary to getting the fictionalized treatment as DreamWorks starts up development for the latest project. The doc is directed by Marshall Curry and it follows three young racers as they compete in the World Karting Association’s National Pavement Series. The feature premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year and won best documentary, definitely warranting the attention it is now so clearly getting. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are settling on the picture as producers.

DreamWorks has yet to attach a writer to the project, but should be collecting one within the next couple of weeks, reports Variety. The two are working as producer on several films, a couple of them being Cowboys and Aliens, which they co-wrote the script for, along with several episodes of the hit Fox show Fringe.
