Don’t Look Up trailer
Whatever happened to good J-Horror? After countless raven-haired imitators and bad sequels that industry has fallen on hard times quality-wise (the two Death Note films being an exception). Here we have a trailer for a film that has a Takashi Miike tone to it, CG blood spewing and a baby shooting out of a woman across the floor. Count me in!
From the minds of Fruit Chan(Dumplings)and Hideo Nakata(Ringu) comes this remake of Nakata’s 1996 film Joyû-rei, which is set in an abandoned film studio from another era, Don’t Look Up charts the unraveling sanity of a director and his crew when spirits from that bygone era invade the film stock of the contemporary production and, in a few stark frames, open a horrifying window on a terrible curse from the past.
Don’t Look Up is set to premiere at this year’s Stiges Film Festival.
