Disney hits a homer with new baseball dramedy

The inspirational sappy Walt Disney films that have been flooding the screen once every other year, whether or not we like it. So when Disney makes a move like scooping up a pitch for an Allan Loeb untitled baseball dramedy, it’s just them doing what they always do. Bradley Cooper throws himself into overly-moving sports territory with his attachment to this production, but who could blame him? This is off a story that’ll be completed by Allan Loeb, the same guy who’s written Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, 21 and the upcoming feature The Switch.

The dramedy centers on a baseball player who gets injured and has to go back to the minors where the only place he can find lodging is in a senior citizens’ home. There, he meets an old baseball guru who helps lead him back (THR). Loeb and Steven Pearl is producing under his Scarlet Fire Entertainment along with Andrew Panay from Panay Films. There’s no word at the moment when the feature will start initial filming, but figuring that Cooper is attached to The Hangover 2 and Which Brings Me to You, it’ll probably still be awhile.

See Allan Loeb’s work sprawled out onto the big screen in Oliver Stone’s Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, opening in theaters on September 24th. If you want to take a nice peek once more at that hunk we all know as Bradley Cooper, stroll on over to your local movie theaters right now to see him in The A-Team.
