Directors visit 21 Jump Street

Submitted by Melissa Molina on December 21, 2009 – 9:17 amNo Comment

ffdIt looks like 21 Jump Street is getting a big boost in the production department as THR reports that directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord both are in talks to direct the big screen version of the popular show. As some of you know, the story is about an undercover police unit consisting of young looking officers infiltrate high schools to control youth crime. If the two end up directing this picture, it’ll be their first big live action directed feature after the success of their nominated animated flick Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.

The picture already has actor and funny-guy Jonah Hill attached, acting as executive producer as well as one of the stars in the feature. Penning the script is Michael Bacall along with Hill himself. The film looks to be eyeballing either a 2011 or a 2012 release date, that’s all depending on how fast this project gets off the ground. Then again, since this is on the big screen version slab, what other popular show within that time period do you think will be the next to get this treatment?
