DiBonaventura is tapping into Nicholas Flamel

Lorenzo DiBonaventura is latching onto the rights to make a movie franchise on The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel. Why does that name sound familiar? Well, if your a Harry Potter maniac like myself, you would recall in the first film that the Philosopher’s Stone that Voldermort is so heavily interested in grabbing was Flamel’s. So now, practically being in the same vein as the soon-to-be completed Harry Potter franchise, this impending set of fantasy features could provide to be marketable if DiBonaventura plays his cards right.

Scott’s series follows 15-year-old twins Sophie and Josh as they pursue adventure across several continents with the immortal alchemist of the title (Variety). The real question is will this be profitable in the long run? There has been a huge number of fantasy films that were screaming sequels within their first flick but never saw more than one. We’ll just have to wait and see as this production comes into fruition in the upcoming months.
