Depp & Hayek might do Pancho Villa

Submitted by Melissa Molina on December 3, 2009 – 2:40 pmNo Comment

panchovillaJohnny Depp and Salma Hayek are both in talks for possibly being in Seven Friends of Pancho Villa and the Woman with Six Fingers. That is a rather long title for a shorter titled novel adaptation that’s originally called The Friends of Pancho Villa that was written by James Carlos Blake. Depp is looking into being Pancho Villa, the title character in this picture. The Spanish-language biopic is to be shot partly in Mexico, where Villa — an early 20th-century bandit who became a guerilla fighter and a hero to the poor — is an iconic historical figure (Variety). If Depp does get accepted for the role, director Emir Kusturica says that the actor will have to speak all of his dialogue in the movie in spanish.

Kusturica and Gordan Mihic put together the script and the feature will not start production until sometime in 2011.
