Del Toro’s next project will be…?
We’ve been playing the guessing game ever since it was announced that director Guillermo Del Toro would not be tackling the two-part prequel The Hobbit. There’s been talks of him possibly helming his Van Helsing project that’s still in development, or it could be something else entirely. One thing’s for sure, we won’t know for at least over a month. Continue reading on to check out his official statement from Del Toro Films (via Latino Review).:
Van Helsing (writing and producing) is still in talks and not quite certain. Even then, I would like to share my plans only at COMIC-CON. I am taking it slowly and marking very, very carefully the calendar of projects that I will be involved as producer, writer, etc I will not announce the project I intend to direct until then . I am very happy to say that all the projects and partnerships being considered are both quite surprising and, I hope, powerful. Much as I want, I cannot say much more at this time but I anxiously await to share these with you. I will be shopping on the floor in San Diego for several days. See you there!!
We can only speculate what the famed director will be taking on next. It’s been a little while since we’ve seen his name plastered on the “directed by” section of a film, the last time he took the reigns was for Hellboy II: The Golden Army which opened back in 2008.
