De Niro to do another Midnight Run

Submitted by Melissa Molina on March 8, 2010 – 12:34 pmNo Comment

Robert De Niro and Universal Pictures hops back onto the action comedy track as they both team up on the sequel to the 1988 film Midnight Run, says THR. The story centers on an accountant is chased by bounty hunters, the FBI, and the Mafia after jumping bail. Timothy Dowling will be penning the script, who’s other credits include Role Models and the upcoming Adam Sandler film Just Go with It. De Niro and Jane Rosenthal will be producing the picture, no word on when they expect for it to be released at this time.

De Niro just starred last year in the drama Everybody’s Fine and will be seen on the big screen in several films like Machete, Stone and Little Fockers. Universal Pictures is getting themselves ready for yet another release under their company as the Paul Greengrass directed feature Green Zone is scheduled to come out this Friday. Another one set to come out under their company is the Jude Law and Forest Whitaker feature Repo Men.
