David O. Russell talks Uncharted

Back in October we brought you the news that David O. Russell had signed on to direct the Uncharted game adaptation (here), and last month Mark Wahlberg confirmed he was playing main character Nathan Drake (here). Well David has been talking about the film, and reveals some details about which direction he’s headed with it.

This idea really turns me on that there’s a family that’s a force to be reckoned with in the world of international art and antiquities … (a family) that deals with heads of state and heads of museums and metes out justice. We’ll have the family dynamic, which we’ve done in a couple of movies now. And then you take that and put it on the bigger, more muscular stage of an international action picture, but also put all the character stuff in it. That’s a really cool idea to me.

David also mentioned that the script was half way done, so it would seem the film is well under way at this stage. Currently David and Mark have The Fighter to showcase, which is getting released next week.

  1. I believe this is the ass that Clooney supposedly punched in the face.

While shooting Three Kings, for his abusive behavior towards extras on the set. Lily Tomlin also had a verbal spat with him during the filming of I Heart Huckabees.

Yep, that video with Lily Tomlin is infamous.
