Daniels walks with Selma

2__630x445_opr_precious-danielsLee Daniels is sinking his teeth into possibly directing a civil rights movement project called Selma. The story will trace the historic 1965 march in the Alabama town that marked the political and emotional peak of the civil rights movement (Variety). If he jumps on board to this production, this will be the first flick he’s directed since his surprisingly praised 2009 film Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire. Producing will be Christian Colson with Cloud Nine Films on top of this project.

The script is penned by Paul Webb, who’s other screenwriting credits include the Steven Spielberg directed and in production picture called Lincoln. The possible release date for Selma is unknown at the moment.

I've been in love with film ever since I was a kid. The time, effort and passion that runs through a majority most film is something that's always attracted me to this field. What ended up happening with my big appetite for all things going on in the industry turned from random blurbs on Facebook to an unexpected but fun job. College student by day, movie news writer by early morning...or any time in the day and night when more news arrives. Working towards my bachelor's degree in film, what a surprise. I do other things too, like draw, write stories, maintain a social life and feed my pet dragon Lockheed. If you want to know more about me, hunt me down and just ask.

  1. Before you praise the man for these accomplishments. . just wait to see what he is looking to destroy!
The script of “selma” is full of lies and misconceptions to men who gave all they had including their lives to the civil right movement.

When it comes to the movie “selma” he is nothing short of a con artist..

If you want to tell a story based on history LEE..LEARN THE FACTS!!

  2. I hope Lee Daniels’ Selma will be truthful in it’s portrayal of all involved.
Too many “lies and misconceptions” have been written and filmed about the events surrounding Bloody Sunday. It’s a disservice to characterize one side as standing on absolute moral high ground and the other as rotted souls in a racist quagmire.
