Crowe takes on the Zoo
It appears that director Cameron Crowe caved in and is now signed on to helm the novel adapted feature We Bought a Zoo. The script was originally written by Aline Brosh McKenna, but now is getting the polished treatment by Crowe. No word yet on who will be taking on the lead role, but with Crowe finally attached to the project it won’t take too long to wrangle up an actor.
Based off the memoirs by Benjamin Mee, We Bought a Zoo focuses on the true account of how Mee and his family used their life savings to buy a dilapidated zoo, replete with 200 exotic animals facing destruction, in the English countryside. Mee, along with his children, had to balance caring for his wife, who was dying of brain cancer, with dealing with escaped tigers, raising endangered animals, working with an eclectic skeleton crew and readying the zoo for a reopening (THR).
Twentieth Century Fox, already tingling with anticipation over the inevitable release of Crowe’s latest big screen creation, have We Bought a Zoo slated for a December 23rd, 2011 release.

Ooo I liked that book too! Excited for this
