Craig becomes a Cowboy

Submitted by Melissa Molina on January 29, 2010 – 2:39 pmNo Comment

After Robert Downey Jr. jumped ship on the upcoming comic book adaptation of Cowboys and Aliens, quite a few mumblings about Quantum of Solace star Daniel Craig taking on the leading role started to swirl about. Today on Deadline Hollywood they confirmed that the action star would be in the Jon Farveau directed flick. The movie is about Apache Indians and Western settlers must lay their differences aside when an alien spaceship crash lands in their city.

The film is clearly based on the comic of the same name, created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, that was originally released in 2006. The adapted script was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci with them producing along with Brian Grazer and Damon Lindelof. Rosenberg will be serving in the role of producer, a pretty comfortable position considering that it’s his own creation being sprawled up onto the big screen. The film is slated to come out sometime in 2011 under DreamWorks SKG and Universal Pictures.
