Could another film delay Kick-Ass 2?
Fans of Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass were given great news when Mark Millar claimed that a sequel was green-lit. Afterwards, Millar also claimed work on the film version would begin after Vaughn completes X-Men: First Class. However, there’s now the possibility that Vaughn may be choosing another film over Kick-Ass 2.
On his Twitter (via Comic Book Movies), Millar has sent the first issue of his newest creation, Superior, and is already getting offers from studios. “Sent Superior 1 to some of my buds last night and informal offers from studios already. This is looking good,” Millar said. Vaughn is being given the first offer to direct this film. He’ll now have to decide if he wants to make Kick-Ass 2, Superior, or another film next. “I’ve promised Matthew Vaughn a first pass at Superior though. We’re going to talk next week whether it’s this, Kick-Ass 2, or something else next,” he said.
Kick-Ass 2 has already reportedly been green-lit, and this is the first anything has been heard on an adaptation of Superior. So, it would seem likely that Vaughn would go straight into Kick-Ass sequel, but there’s also the possibility he may choose neither films.
