Cornwell series goes to Fox 2000

Submitted by Melissa Molina on January 14, 2010 – 10:11 amNo Comment

Patricia Cornwell’s series centered around the fictionalized character Dr. Kay Scarpetta is getting scooped up by Fox 2000. Adding onto that, Kerry Williamson will be penning the novel adaptation that’s already said to star Angelina Jolie. The character has appeared in seventeen of Cornwell’s books, easily making this possible to become another franchise, THR reports. Williamson is writing up a draft of the script right now, but no word as to whether or not it will be tied to any specific novel of Cornwell’s.

Producing is Mark Gordon along with Geyer Kosinski under Media Talent Group. Williamson is also attached to pen another screenplay called Fork in the Road with Alexander Payne directing. Mark Gordon’s attached onto several other projects as producer, some of those include Source Code and a biopic called Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said? supposedly starring Marlon Wayans.
