Copley and Olyphant switch on Number Four
Sharlto Copley jumps ship on the production of the science fiction film I Am Number Four and is replaced by The Crazies star Timothy Olyphant. The D.J. Caruso feature has been gaining a lot of new cast members over the course of the past couple of months, so of course this comes out as one strange surprise. The reasoning behind it is due to scheduling conflicts will all of the press stuff that Copley has to do for the television show turned feature film The A-Team, reports Variety.
Olyphant will be taking on the role of a man who hailed from the alien world’s serving class but now is the title character’s adult guardian and mentor. He’s the latest addition to the cast that includes Alex Pettyfer, Teresa Palmer, Kevin Durand and Dianna Argon. The Alfred Gough, Marti Nixon and Miles Millar script, based off the novel by James Frey and Jobie Hughes, is about nine alien teens come to Earth after their planet is destroyed by an enemy species. But soon discover that their enemy is now after them on Earth.
Principal photography will begin this month in Pittsburgh with no set release date at the moment.
