Cooper doesn’t want War

Bradley Cooper makes a smart career move in jumping ship on the possible McG directed feature This Means War. He digs up a viable excuse in the fact that The Hangover 2 created scheduling conflicts for the in-demand actor. Granted, there are quite a few actors who go and tango around with different shoots within the span of a couple of years, there’s a bit more to it than just mere scheduling conflicts when it comes to this project.

A source close to Cooper says that the actor had creative concerns regarding the project, which centers on two spying best friends whose relationship falls apart when they both fall for the same woman (Witherspoon). The source says Cooper had some issues with the script, which has been through numerous iterations since Fox originally purchased it back in 1998, reports EW.

Now the picture, poised for a possible 2011 release, is still struggling to hold onto a director and lost it’s lead actor. The real question that comes up now is what Twentieth Century Fox will do with their unloved property. Cooper can next be seen sharing the big screen with the likes of Liam Neeson in the summer film The A-Team.
