Colin Farrell offered lead role in Total Recall remake
The planned Total Recall remake is well underway, with Len Wiseman (Die Hard 4) set to direct of course. Last month we heard the rumor (here) that Colin Farrell was the front-runner for the film. Well as it would be, Sony have made an official offer to Farrell for the role. Negotiations are underway right now, and of course Farrell would be the new Douglas Quaid if the real goes ahead.
The role of Quaid was made famous by the Governator himself Arnold Schwarzenegger back in 1990. The original film was directed by Paul Verhoeven, based upon the short story ‘We Can Remember It For Whole Sale‘ by Philip K. Dick. The remake will be more contemporary according to Kurt Wimmer, who has penned the new script. Interestingly enough Wimmer also wrote the script for The Recruit which starred Farrell.
