Cody fixes up a Young Adult with Mandate

The Juno and Jennifer’s Body writer Diablo Cody is putting together a new script for Mandate Pictures entitled Young Adult. In it, the story involves a thirtysomething, divorced, young-adult fiction writer in Minneapolis who returns to her hometown to chase the ex-boyfriend, who’s now married with a kid, that got away (THR).

Cody will be producing along with Lianne Halfon, Mason Novick and Russell Smith. No word yet on who will end up directing the feature at the moment. Diablo Cody is in the middle of development on Sweet Valley High and has been writing the episodes for the Showtime original series United States of Tara that landed Toni Collette an Emmy and a Golden Globe win.
