Cheadle spills on War Machine

Don Cheadle is best known as being the one random actor to jump in head first to the sequel to the hit Marvel Studios Iron Man after the tussle between them and Terrence Howard happened. He filled the roles of Lieutenant James Rhodes who eventually turns into the fierce War Machine in the Iron Man universe.

There’s been a lot of awesome marketing that’s been swirling around this Paramount Pictures/Marvel property, and one of the biggest pushes is the debut of War Machine. Cheadle sits down with Wizard Magazine, as Coventry Telegraph found out, and this is what he has to say on the notions of future films for Marvel.:

“People have asked but no one [in authority] has mentioned it as something that’s happening.” ”Hopefully, if this one does well, there’ll be another [Iron Man film] with the same people. But there won’t be a [War Machine] spin-off.”

Iron Man 2 is directed by Jon Farveau and stars Robert Downey Jr. along with Gwyneth Paltrow, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Cheadle himself. The feature comes out in theaters on May 7th.

I've been in love with film ever since I was a kid. The time, effort and passion that runs through a majority most film is something that's always attracted me to this field. What ended up happening with my big appetite for all things going on in the industry turned from random blurbs on Facebook to an unexpected but fun job. College student by day, movie news writer by early morning...or any time in the day and night when more news arrives. Working towards my bachelor's degree in film, what a surprise. I do other things too, like draw, write stories, maintain a social life and feed my pet dragon Lockheed. If you want to know more about me, hunt me down and just ask.

  1. Good. Not every character needs a movie.
But i do need more IM. And his rank is Lt. Col.

  2. I’m glad, A War Machine spin-off wouldn’t work.
