Captain America to start filming in June
The red, white and blue crusader from the Marvel universe is finally starting to make his way onto the big screen as director Joe Johnston spills about the start date for The First Avenger: Captain America. Joe Johnston should be a familiar name to a fair number of you since he’s directing the upcoming Universal Pictures remake of The Wolfman. Here’s exactly what he said to the folks over at Coming Soon.:
Principal photography was now less than four weeks away. “By the time I got on a plane and arrived, it was three,” recalls Johnston, speaking from the art department of THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA, which he’s readying for a June start.”
Marvel Studios definitely has their superheroes all lined up in a neat little production row for the inevitable development of the 2012 slated film The Avengers. Coming out this May 7th, 2010 is Iron Man 2 along with the mid-January production start of Kenneth Branagh’s Thor. Other such Marvel properties like Luke Cage, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange and Nick Fury are still smoldering on the development board before Avengers.
