Captain America casting strikes again
Those of you who have been keeping track of the casting news, along with the ever-changing short list, for Joe Johnston’s The First Avenger: Captain America should keep on reading. Not only is there two more additions to the list to play Steve Rogers/Captain America, but now there’s also a few women that have been tested to be Peggy Carter, the girlfriend and American agent who served with the French Resistance during World War II. Those that Deadline New York are reporting to have already tried out for the role include Keira Knightley, Emily Blunt and Alice Eve from She’s Out of My League.
Then we dive right back into the rumor mill as the list keeps on changing for Steve Rogers/Captain America. Now G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Dear John star Channing Tatum is being considered for the role along with Crash and Stop-Loss actor Ryan Phillippe. The Marvel Enterprises property is still slated to come out on July 22nd, 2011 prior to the inevitable completion of The Avengers film.
Who do you think fits the bill best for the two characters? Share your thoughts.

Anyone, but Channing Tatum. I would rather have Topher Grace as Capt. than Tatum.
if Tatum was a better actor, i would say yes. Phillipe, i can buy as Steve Rogers, but would have to prove he can be a presence as the capt.
