Buried gets a release date

The claustrophobic-like thriller Buried finally gets itself a domestic release date by Lionsgate says Variety. Set for a September 24th release, the feature stars Ryan Reynolds as a U.S. contractor working in Iraq. After an attack by a group of Iraqis he wakes to find he is buried alive inside a coffin. With only a lighter and a cell phone it’s a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap.

Rodrigo Cortes directs the suspenseful film from a script written by Chris Sparling who’s already in the middle of writing ATM. Buried premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, being scooped up rather quickly by Lionsgate and being known as one of the largest deals within the ten days of the showcase.

Ryan Reynolds is attached to a couple of other pictures at the moment, those being The Green Lantern and Change Up.
