Bruce Campbell’s going after Frankenstein

Bruce Campbell is one of the cult acting gods of Hollywood for a many number of us. From the Evil Dead movies all the way to My Name is Bruce, we can never get enough of the big chinned hero. Now we have another film featuring the actor for you all to look forward to, as he announces plans for a sequel to My Name is Bruce to Ain’t It Cool News.:

Hello everyone. Bruce Campbell here. This urgent message is short, because my keystrokes are monitored and I fear for my life. My partner at Dark Horse comics, Mike Richardson (normally a very rational and talented man), threatened to have his foot soldiers “crush my spleen” if I did what I am about to do. But the fans deserve to know, so with great trepidation I officially announce Bruce Vs. Frankenstein, the sequel to My Name is Bruce. Principal photography begins this fall in Oregon. I’d like to live long enough to see the cameras roll, so please, for the love of God, do not tell anyone – I can’t risk this announcement getting back to Mike! Thank you.

Well, since filming is starting up in the fall, I wonder if there will still be any sort of development between now and 2020 at this point for Evil Dead IV. We were mumbling about the possibility of Sam Raimi finally getting on board after yesterday’s article hinted at the notion of the Spider-Man director doing another sequel to the popular horror franchise. What do you think of this news, and even more so what did you think of My Name is Bruce?

  1. ED4? Seriously guys, we have to let this go. Even Bruce doesn’t want to do it; this is a direct quote from his Toronto appearance in Aug ’09.

“I don’t see it happening. Come on, you guys don’t really want to see an Evil Dead 4, do ya? What’s the point? We’ll do it and spend all that time and money, and you’ll see it and go, it was all right, wasn’t as good as Army Of Darkness.”

I’m inclined to agree with him.

Well, at least it gets people talking ;)

  2. I’d rather Coscarelli do PHANTASM V, but that’s just me. And I love BUBBA HO-TEP, but bring the spheres back!

    Brad Reiter Reply:

I loved MNIB, but I want him to go do the BUBBA sequel.

  3. This should be again, fun. Sorry Mr. Bene.

  4. The scene in My Name is Bruce where he is extremely rude to a fan, that’s pretty much what he thinks of us.

    Brad Reiter Reply:

I loved that scene. I know he’s supposed to be full of himself, but I still enjoy some of his stuff. I don’t hold him in high regard as much as some horror fans.

  5. i would see it.
