Brody on a Predators sequel

With a near $60 million domestic gross at the box office for the relaunch of the Predators franchise, was mildly successful on its $45 million budget, but overseas, it raked in $120 million, so combined, this past summer’s Nimrod Antal’s reboot was successful enough for Fox and the stars to think tank a sequel.

MTV talked to star Adrien Brody about the film’s Arnold Schwarzenegger cameo ending that never was (here) and a possible sequel at NYCC ’10. “I think the goal initially was to make a film that is worthy of [a franchise],” Brody said. “The film is even structured that way… to kick in for another one. I’d be excited. I’d be excited to do it. I think that was part of the allure.

We had a lot of work set out for us… Unless it’s concrete, unless you already have the specific agenda, you’ve got to focus all your energy on a day-by-day-by-day basis on overcoming the obstacles that present themselves to you every day. And I was in the gym every day after work and forcing myself to eat, so I wasn’t really hanging out.”

I would welcome a sequel. Predators hits Blu-ray and DVD October 19th.
