Bringing in Doc Savage

“Lethal Weapon” movie series writer Shane Black recently talked to Ain’t It Cool News Harry Knowles, disclosing that he will be penning the script for the upcoming Doc Savage movie. Along with that, “Star Trek” writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman will be producing. No word yet on who’s directing the project, but depending on how much priority this film gets from its respected production company, this could gain some momentum and and see the light of day or not.

Doc Savage is a 1930s originated pulp fiction comic book created by Henry Ralston, John Nanovic and Lester Dent. Since then, it has gained some what of a cult status, still highly recognized today as one of the more powerful and entertaining figures in comic books at that time.

UPDATE: Collider reports that Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman will not be producing the new Doc Savage movie but Shane Black might be attached not only to write but direct the film.
