Breathless gets re-released
Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless is getting it’s theatrical run once again as Rialto Pictures brings it back to the big screen for it’s 50th anniversary. Here’s a little bit more from Variety on how it’s run will be looking like.:
The new print will make its American premiere as part of the inaugural TCM Classic Film Festival (April 22-25). The restored version was first unveiled at the Berlin Film Festival in February.
A commercial theatrical re-release of “Breathless” kicks off May 28 at New York’s Film Forum, followed by a national rollout.
The story revolves around a young car thief who kills a policeman and tries to persuade a girl to hide in Italy with him. At the moment Rialto is in the middle of grabbing Le petit soldat and Les Carabiniers for possible re-releases as well.
