Box-Office Roundup

It seems like people were interested in safe entertainment last weekend because High School Musical 3 came in at number one once again.  Beating out Zack and Miri Make a Porno by almost five million in sales.  Personally I’d have liked seeing Zack and Miri open at the number one spot, but I don’t think this is terrible news for the flick.  First of all this is Smith’s second largest opening weekend ever ($11 million for Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), and I have faith that his fans will hear how much the movie rocked and make their way into the theatre in the coming weeks.  And if for some reason the flick doesn’t make its budget back theatrically I’m positive it’ll do so on DVD.

It’s hard to believe that a movie based on a made for television musical beat out not only Zack and Miri, but Saw as well.  Maybe people are tired of grown up entertainment…Nah.

Check out the numbers below, and then get your ass to the theater to check out Zack and Miri Make a Porno, RocknRolla, Changeling, or something that’ll knock HSM3 out of the top spot.
