Box office results for the weekend of 1-18-09

In a stunning turn of events, this weeks box office winner was the critically snubbed (28% Rotten Tomatoes score)  Paul Blart: Mall Cop.  The film helped raise the overall box office 31% from the previous year with all 5 of this year’s new releases cracking the top 5 overall and stole the reigning champs number one spot which Gran Torino held for the past 2 weeks in a row.
