Bowler grabs onto Elite and Gardens
Grant Bowler is making his wave through film as he signs on not only for a role in The Killer Elite but also in The City of Gardens. The first of the two has Bowler playing Capt. James Cregg, an SAS officer and war hero who is one of the targets (THR). He’s possibly the last addition to a cast that already includes Robert De Niro, Dominic Purcell, Yvonne Strahovski, Aden Young, Ben Mendelsohn, Lacy Hulme and Firass Dirani. Principal photography began this month in Melbourne with Gary McKendry directing the film.
The City of Gardens is a Camilo Vila directed feature which centers on a young California surfer in 1980 who is framed and thrown in a Peruvian jail for political prisoners before escaping (THR). The film will have Bowler as a schizophrenic named Jesus Christ who is stuck in solitary confinement. No word yet on when principal photography will start on that film.
