Bill Condon takes on Breaking Dawn
Today Summit Entertainment finally announced who their number one director is for the upcoming tw0-part finale The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Bill Condon, previously being reported as one of the front runners to take on the controversial final piece of the popular supernatural series, will be taking on the novel adapted feature, working off the script that Melissa Rosenberg is currently putting together. Those of you might recognize the name Bill Condon, mainly due to his directorial work with Dreamgirls, Gods and Monsters and Kinsey.
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are all attached to star in the concluding feature being produced by Twilight author Stephanie Meyer with Karen Rosenfelt and Wyck Godfrey. Here’s a little more down below of the reactions from Erik Feig, Condon and Stephanie Meyer.
“Bringing Stephenie Meyer’s BREAKING DAWN to the screen requires a graceful and intelligent hand and we believe Bill Condon is exactly the right steward, having shown equal and abundant talents of immense creativity and subtle sensitivity,” said Erik Feig, President of Production and Acquisitions, for Summit Entertainment.
Added author Stephenie Meyer, “I’m so thrilled that Bill wants to work with us. I think he’s going to be a great fit, and I’m excited to see what he does with the material.”
“I’m very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book – and we’re hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience,” said Bill Condon.
The highly anticipated third installment to the series, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, is coming out in theaters and in IMAX everywhere on June 30th.
