Batman 3 starts casting (with update!)

With Christopher Nolan officially on board as director (here – like he wasn’t going to direct this film?) and the looming April 2011 start date, Deadline is reporting that Nolan’s Inception co-star Tom Hardy (Bronson, Star Trek: Nemesis) is being cast for an unknown role in the third Batman film.

That’s really all the source said, but we knew an Inception co-star was going to be cast in the third Batman way back as read here. It was just a matter of who. Leo DiCaprio (here) was rumored; Marion Cotillard as well (here); but it was perhaps too easy saying that Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy) was going to be in Batman 3.

Now, it’s just a matter of who Hardy will be playing. Villain? Thoughts?

Update: Looks like Kick-Ass‘s Mark Millar has just tweeted (here) that Hardy is the Killer Croc (a rumored Batman 3 villain here): “Tom Hardy as Killer Croc? I like the sound of that.”
