Batman 3 begins filming next April

Nolan filmed filmed both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight in the Windy City, but production for Batman 3 will be headed to the Big Easy this time around.

Rumors about moving production to New Orleans surfaced back in August, and Super Hero Hype now confirms it. They also reveal that production will be starting on the film in April 2011, but no exact date has been set.

It’s possible that filming will take place in other locations, but WB may be tyring to take advantage of the city’s tax cuts on a big budget film. Production on Martin Campbell’s Green Lantern wrapped up in the location earlier this year.. However, you shouldn’t expect a cameo by Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) as Nolan continues to insist his Batman exists in his own universe.

Batman 3 is scheduled to open in July of 2012.
