Batman 3 begins filming in March?
This Saturday director Christopher Nolan will be speaking at the Hero Complex Film Festival in Los Angeles. There he will discuss his accomplishments on past films such as Insomnia and The Dark Knight. However, everyone wants to know about his plans for the highly anticipated Batman 3. As far as we know almost nothing about the film, but apparently there’s word of a possible start date.
According to Geoff Boucher at the LA Times, Batman 3 will begin filming in March of 2011. This does make one wonder if Boucher got a hold of a scoop while preparing for the upcoming Hero Complex Festival, or was he just misinformed?
This rumor does hold some truth to it with Nolan’s filming on the previous Batman films. The film is slated for a July 2012 release, which would give Nolan enough time to finish the film. If true, then it raises the question about whether or not he will have enough time for the upcoming Superman reboot The Man of Steel. Nolan is producing the film along with his wife Emma Thomas, and will be heavily involved with that feature too. Will Nolan be able to tackle two superhero films at once? Once again, it seems we will have to wait until Comic-Con for an official announcement. Maybe we’ll get lucky and Nolan will make his big announcement at the Hero Complex Festival.
Batman 3 is scheduled to open on July 20, 2012.
