Baker and Bettany go for Margin Call
Paul Bettany and Simon Baker are climbing onboard the independent drama Margin Call. They’ll be joining up on the cast that already includes Zachary Quinto, Kevin Spacey and Stanley Tucci. J.C. Chandor is directing the picture from his own script with Zachary Quinto, Corey Moosa and Neal Dodson from Before the Door Pictures.
The project revolves around employees of an investment bank during a tumultuous 24-hour period during the 2008 financial collapse. Baker will portray a ruthless, high-powered securities broker who oversees the characters played by Kevin Spacey, Stanley Tucci and Zachary Quinto and drives his colleagues to win by any means necessary. Bettany will play a top-tier trader, unabashedly unafraid of who he is even as the crisis deepens (THR).
Principal photography will begin at the start of next week in New York. Bettany will appear in theaters again next year in The Tourist and starring in the comic book adapted feature Priest. You can check out Baker on the small screen in CBS’s hit television show The Mentalist.
