Azaria smiles it up for The Smurfs

The thought of a Smurfs movie is all right, but when you find out that it’s not only an animated film but live action mixed together, it makes for quite the strange combination. Regardless, Raja Gosnell is in the middle of filming all the way in New York City with Hank Azaria, and that’s where the pictures come in. Azaria is playing the role of the evil Gargamel, so what better way to remind people about this film than showing off some images?

The evil wizard Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village and they tumble from their magical world into ours – in the middle of Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down (Coming Soon).

The Smurfs comes out in theaters and in 3D everywhere on July 29th, 2011.:

I've been in love with film ever since I was a kid. The time, effort and passion that runs through a majority most film is something that's always attracted me to this field. What ended up happening with my big appetite for all things going on in the industry turned from random blurbs on Facebook to an unexpected but fun job. College student by day, movie news writer by early morning...or any time in the day and night when more news arrives. Working towards my bachelor's degree in film, what a surprise. I do other things too, like draw, write stories, maintain a social life and feed my pet dragon Lockheed. If you want to know more about me, hunt me down and just ask.
