Avatar starts to take over the world

Remember awhile back before the release of Avatar when a few people were speculating whether or not James Cameron’s twelve year long baby would even make it even with revenue compared to it’s production budget? Well it looks like Cameron is completely drowning in money once again as E! Online breaks the news that Cameron has outdid himself in the international box office, surpassing his own film Titanic. Avatar wrangled up about $1.29 Billion while Titanic is afloat with only $1.24 Billion, just further proving that James Cameron can definitely bring in the money.

What’s next for the movie that never stops is taking over the number one spot in the domestic box office. Right now it stands at $552 Million, which also means that Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight got shifted back into permanent third place since Avatar is only around $50 Million behind from toppling over Titanic. It would be no surprise at this point that before the announcements of the 82nd Annual Academy Awards that this monster film takes the number one spot.

Because of all of this box office success, and the awards that Avatar has been winning left and right, do you think it’s rightfully deserved?

I've been in love with film ever since I was a kid. The time, effort and passion that runs through a majority most film is something that's always attracted me to this field. What ended up happening with my big appetite for all things going on in the industry turned from random blurbs on Facebook to an unexpected but fun job. College student by day, movie news writer by early morning...or any time in the day and night when more news arrives. Working towards my bachelor's degree in film, what a surprise. I do other things too, like draw, write stories, maintain a social life and feed my pet dragon Lockheed. If you want to know more about me, hunt me down and just ask.
