Avatar sequel will go into the oceans of Pandora
While everyone is getting their wallets ready for the release of Avatar onto DVD and Blu-ray this Thursday, James Cameron takes the time to talk more about his plans for the upcoming sequel. /Film reports that Cameron is planning to take us into the oceans of Pandora:
“We created a broad canvas for the environment of film. That’s not just on Pandora, but throughout the Alpha Centauri AB system. And we expand out across that system and incorporate more into the story – not necessarily in the second film, but more toward a third film. ” … “Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment – a different setting within Pandora. And I’m going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won’t be a rain forest. I’m not saying we won’t see what we’ve already seen; we’ll see more of that as well.”
I’ve been pessimistic towards the idea of a sequel, but I’m loving this news. One of the best parts about Avatar was that you got lost in the world James Cameron created, and now he’s taking us even further. My question is will we get to see Jake and Neytiri merge with the creatures of the sea?
Avatar hits Blu-ray and DVD this Thursday.
