August and Burton take on Mosterpocalypse?

That’s what the folks over at Heat Vision Blog are saying, since word is out now that scribe John August could be re-teaming with Tim Burton to put together the upcoming production entitled Monsterpocalypse. The name sounds familiar, right? That’s because we reported about the kaiju-themed collectible miniatures game that has random monsters ripping each other apart in the imaginative sense.

Right now it’s just a matter of DreamWorks wrangling August into the ring. If they successfully do so, then it will mark the fourth time that August would have worked with Burton. The previous times were on films Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride and the feature-length version of Frakenweenie. Burton currently is in the middle of pre-production for the stop motion animated feature Frakenweenie, set to be released in theaters sometime in 2011.
