Anne Hathawy to star as Judy Garland in upcoming film!

Newly dubbed Oscar nominee Anne Hathaway has now been tapped to portray legendary singer/actress Judy Garland in another biopic, this time through The Weinstein Company.  Now while this is certainly not the first time Judy Garland has been portrayed on screen, the Weinsteins believe this production will set itself apart from the pack as this adaptation is being taken from Gerald Clarke’s biography Get Happy which uses Garland’s own writings.

The last bio that appeared on screen was the award winning Life with Judy Garland: Me and my Shadows.  The film premiered on television with actresses Judy Davis and Tammy Blanchard portraying the actress at different ages of her life, which resulted in both of the actresses wining Emmy awards for their performances.
