Anchor Bay release Battle Royale 3D soon
Anchor Bay, according to Nippon Cinema, will release (finally) Battle Royale the crazed Japanese flick, a full ten years after its original release. Once feared for a potential backlash in our post-Columbine Massacre America, the film will now get a post-conversion 3D effort, as well as the sequel.
Regardless, Toei Studios will finally have an official Region 1 release. One can assume, Anchor Bay will also handle the DVD and Blu-ray release sometime in 2011 as well. Japanese fans can see Battle Royale 3D on November 20, 2010, no US date yet.
